J&N Food Equipment Mission Statement

Who Are We?

J&N Food Equipment are a family based business with over 100 years of experience combined. With nine staff members we have created a highly experienced team who have the knowledge to advise and guide you in the correct direction for your personal needs.

What Do We Do?

J&N Food Equipment supply the highest quality food processing equipment to both new and existing customers all over the world. We listen to customers to provide a service envied by many of our competitors. We provide repairs and servicing work for many types of food equipment, due to a reliable team of engineers and a range of spare parts.

Where Are We?

J&N Food Equipment are based in Epworth, Yorkshire. In June 2019 we moved to a brand new premises, this move gives us the opportunity to expand with the business. We now have a test kitchen, giving us the ability to demonstrate the capabilities of our equipment to customers on site.

J&N Food Equipment value the status they’ve earned in the industry. Over the last two decades we have given all new and existing customers the exact same time and dedication. We’ve built a reputation across the UK and worldwide that we are proud of, as reflected in our testimonials.

When We Started?

In 2000 Ian and Sandra started the business using their spare bedroom and garage as space for their business. In 2002 they relocated the business; this move gave them a huge outbuilding space with office attached. J&N Food Equipment continued growing and in 2004 the first sales person was taken on.

Ian and Sandra decided to move the business away from their home in 2006 into Unit C on the industrial estate. Fast forward seven years to 2013 and the business stayed on the same industrial estate however moved to units G and H, this gave them far more office space but also a workshop area and showroom. They kept on unit C as extra storage space as the business was growing rapidly. Enabling us to take on the first engineer and therefore J&N Food Equipment could offer servicing and repairs.

In June 2019, J&N Food Equipment moved to bigger premises, and has a larger team than ever before with nine staff members. Unit K was designed and built exactly to the varying needs of the growing business, giving the opportunity to provide the best possible service. Meet The Team

Poppy - CEO (2015)

Poppy joined J&N Food Equipment as a puppy in 2015. She comes to work every day and is a valued team member meeting and greeting new customers. She spends quite a lot of her day sitting behind Kevan on his chair keeping an eye on him and helping in the sales department answering telephone calls.

Ian Jones - Director (2000)

Ian started his career in selling butchers sundries to small businesses in Yorkshire. The demand for someone to provide quality machinery to the industry was vast, so in July 2000 Sandra and Ian created J&N Food Equipment Ltd together. Ian has a passion for his business and has gained respect through the industry for supplying good, reliable products with an exceptional after sales service.

Sandra Nightingale-Jones - Director (2000)

After leaving school, Sandra started her career at a well-known department store, working there until leaving to start a family. Whilst being a stay at home mum, Sandra did the accounting for her Father until she returned to employment in the education department. Sandra worked at the local senior school as a teacher’s aide, working with children with different kinds of educational needs. Ian and Sandra decided there was a gap in the food machinery industry within the area, so in July 2000 they set up J&N Food Equipment Ltd.

Richard Nightingale - Engineer (2008)

Richard started his career at college studying painting and decorating. After 3 years of schooling he began providing an excellent skilled service as a decorator. Not long after, Ian spotted the skills Richard had in customer awareness and took him on board as a warehouse worker. Richard is now active in repairing and servicing machinery after gaining the knowledge and skills required.

Vikki Simpson - Accounts (2012)

Vikki started her career as a computer operator imputing data for a large companies. She expanded her career into customer care and service reception for a well-known motor company. After having children Vikki moved her career into accounting, then joined J&N Food Equipment in 2012. She now looks after all accounts payable/receivable and deals with the general day to day paperwork tasks.

Samantha Nightingale - Admin (2014)

Samantha studied cabin crew and college and started her working life as a shop assistant in our local village. After her first child arrived, Samantha started working for J&N part time looking after dispatch, goods in and office admin. In 2018, her second child was born so now juggles between J&N Food Equipment and two very active children.

Kevan Vickers - Head of Sales (2015)

Kevan started butchering at the age of 14 and left school to become a full time butcher and slaughter man. After spending three years managing a slaughterhouse, Kevan moved back into the butchery to take over from his father-in-law on his retirement to run the butcher’s shop, bakery and delicatessen, also opening a second shop. After 12 years Kevan decided to change direction and help set up an FSA approved meat department for a local food service company. All the way through Kevan’s career he used J&N Food Equipment’s products, therefore it was no surprise when he joined the sales team in September 2015, Kevan said “since then I’ve never looked back”.

Ben Orton - Head of Engineering and Parts (2018)

Ben Started work as an apprentice at local electrical contractor. After becoming fully qualified electrician moved to another local electrical contractor working on large projects as electrical foreman, using this role to gain more qualifications to become an approved electrician. After 15 years decided to have a change of career and move to J&N Food Equipment Ltd as head of engineering and parts.

Nadine Lee - IT, Marketing and Social Media (2020)

Nadine finished school and attended a local university, gaining a degree in computing. Nadine then pursued a career in the caring industry and spent the next 9 years passionately providing care to vulnerable people. Nadine has since had 2 daughters and joined J&N Food Equipment late 2020 in IT, Marketing and Social Media, part time, working around her young children.

Martin Broderick (Brod) - Engineer (2018)

Brod started working for a local haulage firm as a mechanical fitter. He later attended North Lindsay College training as an electrician. He started working for a local electrical contractor for 20+ years. In 2009 Brod started his own company doing electrical repairs and machinery repairs. In 2018 Brod joined J&N Food Equipment as an engineer.
